This problem plagued me with Land Desktop, starting in the 2006 release I think?

We now use MLEADERS, and are happier.

Hey, 2006 was when they revamped the highlighting.  Maybe try a different setting for object highlighting (the "thicken" vs. "dashed" vs. "both" setting), and see if it has any effect?
