Topic: Quick Leader (LE) will not show when being placed

Ok, quirky autocad.....

I am using quick leaders (LE)

In the past I go into the settings and change the segment angles so that the first segment is 45 and the second segment is horizontal.  Now I do that and I can not see the leader as I draw it.  If I change it back to any angle I can see it as I draw the leader. 

Any ideas?

What is your setting for Command entry: dragmode (or 'dragmode for transparent use)
Enter new value [ON/OFF/Auto] <current>: Enter an option or press ENTER

On
Permits dragging, but you must enter drag where appropriate in a drawing or editing command to initiate dragging.



Off
Ignores all dragging requests, including those embedded in menu items.




Auto
Turns on dragging for every command that supports it. Dragging is performed whenever it is possible. Entering drag each time is not necessary.


I trust all is well with you other than this dragmode thing.

Hey Michael -
Drag mode was set to Auto, but it did the same thing in with ON and OFF.
Any other ideas?

Is it 'only' in one file?

Is the current layer on and thawed?

Perhaps someone has moshed the Options>>Display>>Colors?

hmmm.....
I am currently doing dimensioning in the drawing.  The layer is on and thawed and if I do a regular dimension everything is visible.
I went to another drawing and the first segment at 45 deg showed except it flickered  pretty bad but then the horizontal wouldn't show.

change the drawing window background color around and do some tests.....
if this happening in the layout tab make the correspond change for the layout instead

it happens on a black model space background
also on a white layout background
or even a very ugly magenta model space background

If its any condolance, I've been through the same. Leader will show at the start, disappear, then show when complete.

sometimes I start in on drafting and think did this always do this or am I losing it....

I am looking at it with 2009, and the bad news is I see the leader all along the way.

What is the state of your video card drivers, and resolution settings?

if I remember right, if the 1st segment is set to "any angle" its not a problem, only when some sort of increments is set. Right?

I have been wondering about my video card and so forth, I have been getting some flickering going on. 
My screen res is 1600x1200...
I'll have to get someone to look at it....

Works either way here.

actually i had the first one set to any hangle and the second set to horizontal....
at that point, the any angle would be visible but flickered, and then the horizontal wasn't visible.
Basicaly if I told it anything different that what default was, I couldnt see it.

Or try rubbing your eyes....

Play around with some other settings, like a little lower resolution, and or connect it to another monitor.
