Your shape is actually a 3d object with different z's is that right ?

Pface will work but requires selecting the points there are some ray tracing lisps out there that may help find all the lines to automate the routine. The answer may be in converting to a 3d solid and getting a face result. Is the faces true planes though the 6 sided one did not seem right.
