I am working on an aluminum Die cast part 3D model. I need to check this model for thin and thick sections. The 3D software we have today does not have this function. Is there any software out there that can do this for me. I have some thoughts that solidworks has something similar to this. Is there any other software out there that can do this? Thanks

What about Alibre (http://www.alibre.com/) ? It's the cheapest in this family.

Nope they do not have this kind of tool :-(
Any other thoughts?
Thanks for the info

IronCAD is a very capable modeller, perhaps you could check it out.
Using vanilla AutoCAD you could cut sections through the 3d solid where required and notate them(?)

Yes I could create cross sections or Dynamic clip the model and look for thick thin sections. Very time consuming. Solidworks has a program that automatically checks for these conditions per your input criteria and highlights the model surfaces in different colors per wall thickness. I was trying to see if there is any other software programs out there that would do this?
Thanks

This is what I have found so far
Thanks for all the info

Ahh, I see, more for analysis than notation or viewing :).
