Create COGO point at block insertion (C3D 2008)
« on: November 12, 2008, 09:13:34 AM »
Hello everyone!

Does anyone know an easy way to create a COGO point at the insertion point for a group of blocks?  I can do it with .NET but was wondering if there is another way other then drawing lines and assigning COGO points to the vertices.  I've got a drawing with a bunch of blocks for IRs (dumb blocks) that I'd like to create points for.  I also have a traverse that has some blocks in it with attributes for PN, PD, and ZC.  I'd like to be able to create COGO points from these blocks as well using the extracted information.  These aren't softdesk points.  I'm not sure what software the surveyor was using that provided me with this drawing file.

Thanks in advance for any responses and I hope business is at least surviving for you guys.  We are getting by but have seen MUCH better days!

Randy,

MAP (I'll call you and talk you through it if needed)

Attach the source file to an empty drawing
Run a query against those blocks, and have it write a report out of the XYZ data.
Then import as points, as needed.

Or you might, be able to get away with this C3D ninja trick.
Create a surface, add those autocad objects to the surface
then export as XML, inside that XML file will be the point list it used.
Be your Best
