Title: Invisible Revdate
Post by: craigr on October 15, 2010, 09:03:40 AM
In the attached dwg, there is a Revdate block that is invisible. I can edit it in Block editor, but it will not appear on the screen. It is along the Lower Right side of the Rectangle. I am able to add a box around it in Block editor and the box shows up, but not the  Revdate.

I can't figure this one out. I have purged, re-inserted the block, and the same problem occurs. Also, the revdate works fine in all of my other dwgs, so it HAS to be a problem with THIS file.

BTW, don't waste a lot of time on this one, it isn't that important. I just like to figure out 'why' when something doesnt work like it is supposed to.

The odd thing is that it doesn't prompt me to fill in the attributes when it's inserted (MEP 2008).   :?

Wouldn't that be because the 'Revdate' block is already inserted into the dwg?

Not if it's a block with attributes.  It should always prompt you unless the ATTREQ variable is set to '0'.

Its b/c you did not specify a PROMPT in the attdef.  Go into the block editor and edit each of the atts, and put in a prompt question

I modified my copy and the prompts still don't show up.  Not gonna lose any sleep over it.

And b/c all 3 have PRESET set to yes.  It wont ask for you to fill it out if its preset

BTW, good job! I doubt I would have ever found that on my own.

I have a VERY big problem with 'just let it go' when something isn't working as normal.

Thanks.

If you use block editor again and grab all three and set PRESET to NO, it should fix the problem

Wow, it's a shame to lose all of that.

I would gladly give up my $10 hr, to make that much.

uh, there was a direct corelation between how much fun you were having and how close a certain 'weasle' was standing next to you, if my experience working for that same weasle is any point of reference
