(C3D 2016) Export Points to Lat Long
« on: March 01, 2016, 02:55:06 PM »
So i'm exporting points from my FL state plane dwg to WGS84 (LAT LONG) so i can import them into maps.google.com. I get points in lat-long but in the wrong place! For example.
exported - 27.562183,-82.272392
google maps - 27.939330, -82.456792

They are close, as in the same county. LOL But not close enough to work with. Any ideas? I'm stumped on this one.

thanks

could be that google actually uses WGS 84 Psuedo Mercator NOT actual WGS84 - or       4326    vs   3857

If I export feature lines to a KML file they come in correctly. *shrug* But I need points.

The problem is C3D is not actually converting to decimal degrees.

Code: [Select]
27.562183 (N027° 56' 21.83"),-82.272392 (W082° 27' 23.92")

OK set up your point file format and CHOOSE DECDEGRESS  it's further down the list
