Skrinking labels? (C3D 2008)
« on: March 27, 2008, 06:40:12 PM »
I create my alignment sheets.  Everything looks great.  Do some editing on the sheet.  Everything still looks good.  Do something else (and I still haven't figured out exactly what I do to cause this!) and all of my labels have shrunk to pinpricks -- both in the plan and the profile view on the sheet.

The only way I know to fix this is to quit out of the drawing and start over, or to delete the alignment sheet and recreate it.  And oddly enough, it is just the one sheet that is messed up; the second and third sheets in the alignment are still OK.

Any clues?  My viewports are locked.  The scale and the annotation scale still look good.

Are you editing through a viewport?  If you are zoomed in tight and a regen is forced, all of the labels will reset to the current VP zoom level.  Usually the regenall command will set everything back in all viewports.

Can I have a sample of the afflicted file?

It seems the issue is with the layout. The afflicted tab is somehow different than the other two functioning tabs. If I create new layout tab, and or copy the functioning tab, the text sizes properly.

I am going to try to pay attention and see if I can get it to happen again.  I think there is some combination of edits that I am doing on that layout that are messing up that tab. Thanks for the help!  I'll be sure and post when I can repeat the affliction.

The issue I believe is the layout is or was set to INCHES in a METRIC drawing, as such it was having a hard time doing the viewport annoscale math.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

That is exactly what it was!  We have a metric job, and use an A1 titleblock, but usually print half-size and do not have any A3 printers, and so squeeze it to fit onto 11x17 paper.  When you select 11x17 paper, the default changes to inches, and you have to remember to change back to mm before you save it to the layout.  Oddly enough, it prints OK, and it is not until the next regen that your labels have shrunk.

I suggest saving a Named Page Setup in your DWT so you need not fuss with this again.
