terrain model explorer won't come up
« on: October 25, 2007, 10:50:29 AM »
I just started using LDT 2007 at a new company. When I open a file they previously created and try to open the Terrain model explorer, I get:

C:\Autodesk\Autodesk Land Desktop 2007\aeccapp50.arx cannot find a dll or other
file that it needs.
; error: ARXLOAD failed
Command:  Unknown command "LDD".  Press F1 for help.

Does this mean there is a bad install?

I know there are surfaces for this project, I saw them on another pc.

Pretty much!  You're obviously missing a file or two (or 3 or 4 or...).

It *could* be that you are missing paths from your Support path.

But it does sound a lot like a bad install...

this suggest a repair install is in order, or copy missing file from other machine and try again....

We've done that before... compared the folders of a good install vs. those of a bad install and noticed that there were less files in the bad install and simply copied them and *poof* all was right with the world again.

I am going to try the re-install and see what happens. Thanks for the fast responses!
