AutoCAD 2014 does not start because of missing XDWAPI.DLL
« on: July 16, 2015, 06:47:43 AM »
3 weeks ago I refreshed some PCs:

(- Acad 2011 was already installed and stayed installed)
- PDF Nuance and some other small, unused programs were deinstalled
- Acad 2014 was installed

Now on 3 PCs I get a error:
- on 2 PCs the first day after installation. A simple reboot "solved"(?) the problem
- the third PC has the problem today, three weeks after installation. A reboot does not help.

The message is attached. It says

Quote
Autodesk  AutoCAD 2014 - Drawing1.dwg - System error
the program can not be started, because XDWAPI.dll is missing on the PC. Please reinstall the program again to solve the problem.

The page
http://www.fixerrorkit.com/fix-error/fix-xdwapi.dll-error.html
says it comes from "Xerox Docuworks", it support says "Maybe it comes from a PDF software."

Question a:
Who knows this specific problem and its solution?

Question b:
How to find which / what / who is calling the missing DLL?
(Find unused DLLs is clear, but finding unused...??)
