DWF import?

(1/2) > >>

hudster:
Is it possible to import DWF's into AutoCAD?

I've almost convinced my boss to switch to DWF for our archive layouts, rather than bound DWGs.

But if I can't import them back into AutoCAD it's a no go.

M-dub:
Import?  For Viewing?  Why not use the free viewer?  Am I off track here?

hudster:
for possible editing, my boss wants to be sure we can step back.

In the 15 years I've been a draffie, i've never had to step back a drawing yet, but he's a worrier and wants to be able to.

M-dub:
Well, I'm not sure about the result you'd get in AutoCAD, but anyway, there seems to be quite a few out there...

Google Search

BREZI:
You cannot convert dwf files back to AutoCAD, they are just intellegent pictures, which can be printed, with or without certain layers. but only using the AutoDEKS viewer or Whip.

If you want to archive drawings, why not just archive the DWG files?

You could do plot files these can be converted back to DWG, DWF, & PDF if you wish, although you would need to buy view companion do this.
