Layer transparency??
« on: January 20, 2011, 04:42:17 PM »
Is there a way to make EVERYTHING on a particular Layer '50%' transparency?

I checked the Help file, but I don't see anything referencing this.

and I don't think this is a good solution either....set your pen table to have shading
then set the layout to display plot style....if I recall there is an issue with this in model space...

What do you want look transparent? Display, prints, the hot receptionist's clothes?

If you want the display to appear transparent you could adjust the display order so the objects you want to see are on top of whatever you want to be "transparent".

If you are referring to plotting, just adjust your plot style as HBM suggested.

We don't use plot styles - or we use whatever is 'standard' with CAD.

I have never played with them.

We have a layer called NO_PLOT that we put notes on top of the entire dwg, such as 'See Drawing #### for updated info' or something like that. These notes are LARGE and Bold and come close to covering the dwg.

It would be nice if I could set everything on that layer to 30% or so visibility so we can still quickly see the info below if if we want to without having to turn that layer off.

Obviously, this isn't a big deal. I just figured it would be nice to be able to do this.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Then I don't think there is an easy way to do that.

Send to back?
If you are going to fly by the seat of your pants, expect friction burns.

try {GreatPower;}
   catch (notResponsible)
      {NextTime(PlanAhead);}
   finally
      {MasterBasics;}

Yes, I just tried that this morning and  I think that will probably be the best answer.

Not exactly what I want, but it is better than the way we were doing it.
