If I may comment from a non Acad/Lisp/VBA standpoint...
Jay's post suggested to me that if code he has written is ok for the public, he freely distributes it, but if it is not, he has the programs under lock and key. I would think he's done this because of past experiences with other people trying to get a program he's working on and have seen him use sucessfully and want to use the program as well. It also seems to imply that these same people didn't ask nicely for the program.

I did read through all the posts in this thread and as some of you got long winded
I started quickly reading through the post. So I can see how what Jay said can be taken as not willing to share.
