Concerning Avatars
« on: December 07, 2005, 09:52:14 am »
Avatars allow you to have a visual representation of yourself on the forums enabling our members to easily recognise your posts among the fray of others. While we no longer permit the hotlinking of Avatars from external sites (via URL as that tends to slow down the loading of forum pages), you do have the ability to upload your very own custom Avatar. That being said, please keep the following guidelines in mind when choosing your custom Avatar:

The maximum size should not exceed 100 x 100 pixels and the content of your Avatar should not be considered offensive in nature. If you wonder whether or not the Avatar you have selected is considered offensive, it's always best to err on the side of caution.

If you choose an Avatar that is considered offensive, you may be asked to change it to something more appropriate. We appreciate your cooperation in this regard as we would like for everyones time here to be as pleasant as possible.

If you prefer not to see other users avatars, you can turn them off by placing a checkmark in the Don't show other users' avatars field of the Look and Layout Preferences section of your User Profile
