I have put together some dwgs of US info like city names and state boundaries. They were created with Map 2004 so they have object data in them. If you don't have Map you can still make use of them. See readme.txt and notice the file size on some of these, they are not small! A good one to try first is US-AIRPORTS-2000.zip. You can find them here:

I have added major roads and scenic rivers and parkways to the list.
