Legrand rvt files
« on: July 21, 2020, 12:11:53 PM »
Hi All,

I know nothing about REVIT. :uglystupid2:
I use Intellicad 9.0 from CMS which only loads an RVT model as an 'underlay' ie just a 3D image really.

For a project I did last year I created individual model of cable tray components from Legrand (client specified). I emailed asking if they could/would supply dwg files but the only reply I got back was a link to the BIM download page and RVT files.

So to my question:
Does anyone know if the rvt files contain 'blocks' of the components that, if converted to dwg format, could be wblocked out to individual dwg files?

I have created a dcl/lsp to insert these in a future project, see my other post on here, but I really don't want to have to redraw any more components if I can avoid it.

Exported 3D rvt models come out blocked some kind of way.
Not always what you would like them to to be. But still pretty usable.
Better way is to ask for IFC and get a copy of BricsCAD BIM to import that.
Design is something you should do with both hands. My 2d hand , my 3d hand ..

Thanks for that.
I went back and asked for alternatives eg dwg, but the reply was basically rvt or nothing!
Disappointing, but not unexpected.
