What this forum is all about...........
« on: November 28, 2005, 03:31:08 pm »
Are you new to AutoCAD?  Have questions or problems that you just can't figure out?  The gang here at The Swamp want to help you out.  We started out just like you, so we know how intimidating it can be to ask those "simple" questions.  Here in the "New To CAD Forum", our long-time CADders will help you to gain the knowledge, expertise and confidence needed to become a competent draftsperson.  We won't flame or ridicule you....we've been there! A few of us have taught basic to advanced CAD on the Vo-Tech or college level. This is your opportunity to ask that question that's been bugging you for so long.  Welcome to THE forum for ALL CAD drafters.

Does this forum have to be AutoCAD specific?  Forum title suggest CAD in general.
Something got screwed up.

If the other person in the USA that uses DataCad signs up on this site, we will let you field his questions here.    Sounds like a plan to me!

Might be good if they state their problem and whatever release they are using.
I used to answer questions at another forum without realising that R2006 did so many darn things I never even knew about.  And the problems they were facing were 2006 specific and not because they found a new way to break autocad.
So now i stick to doing what I know.  Like turning on the faucet and maybe turning it off.

I can't believe I'm doing this, but ...

There is actually a group of six architects occupying the downstairs level of our building who all use DataCAD, and half of them are actually using it by choice.  I think the other half are ready to mutiny at any moment over it though.

Never try to explain anything an Architect does.   Citing them to make a point loses the battle instantly.  :ugly: ^-^

Believe me i dn't feel a lone.  I'm on a mail-server for DataCAD support.  It's slowed down, but I used to get 20-30 emails a day.

DataCAD LLC also set up a forum at their site that a ton of people went to that were on the DBUG list.

There are more of us then you think.

nivuahc,
Ya Know stealing office stuff from a Federal Building after a season finale is against the law.  :-)

Other than that I whole heatedly agree with what T-Bear stated in the beginning of all this.

I live AutoCAD! All questions are taken seriously.

I may add, most use AutoCAD not the "other" cad programs.

Ask away, forum members with experience in "your CAD" program will help whenever they can.

I find it difficult to communicate with anything other than *.dwg files.   8-)
