The article shows how you can interface with some really neat devices called phidgets. Basically they are a platform that connects to your usb port and you can hook up a number of auxillary devices such as temperature probes, motion detectors, rfid kits, weight scales, thermocouples and a pile more. I think it would make for an interesting hobby.

Wow me and someone else was searching for this and the Swamp popped up in google search.


Anyone know of a thermocouple device that just outputs the temperature?
No data logging, temperature display, hi low alert, or fancy software.........
just send temperature value as string and more than one thermocouple input would be great
