is this AutoCAD bug ??
« on: September 30, 2005, 08:41:13 AM »
Hi,

Few year ago I have found something strong with COPY and MOVE command..
but since this time...AutoCAD never resolved this problem..

When you make a copy or move command and than select object and pick first base point...
but before picking the second point for displacement move or copy....you make an ENTER....

this will place the object ANYWARE !!....

what is strange, is if you remake the same procedure..the object move or copy in another diffrent place.. :?

What the...$%&"* !! .. :-(
Keep smile...

Designed behavior: the first point is treated as an offset value.

Example. If I select some objects, pick or type a start point of 10,10,0 and then hit enter twice they will be moved 10,10,0 from their existing location.

Personally I use it all the time, so please don't fix this Autodesk.

The move command when ENTER is pressed takes the first point as an offset value.

I would rather they turned its availability into a variable.  I don't know how many times I've opened drawings, done a Z E only to find crap waaaaaaaay out in the middle of nowhere.  I used to think it was some kind of offset, but these objects are SOO far out there, it makes me wonder what's going on.  (It couldn't have been a normal offset from the first base point.)
