Meeses To Peeses
« on: September 15, 2005, 04:38:20 PM »
I know this is probably a system issue, and I've searched the forums, but you people seem to have the answers that I can't find. My mouse only pans left and right. This is very cumbersome, I mean, come on I remember when pan wasn't even a transparent command, but I thought those days were over. I tried MBUTTONPAN = 1 and 0, to no avail, I tried CP Mouse settings, I'm stumped.

Mouse hygiene me thinks. Is it an optical or mechanical? If the latter, open it up and remove the crud that has collected around the vertical spindle.

When I hold the wheel down, I get the "circle w/arrows" style panning where if I leave it go, it will pan forever in the direction I started, and its only left to right in AutoCAD.

i think its a system setting in windows

I believe it's a setting in you Control Panel/Mouse and then under the Scrolling tab there is a setting in there that is causing the problem. Try unchecking the Enable Accelerator option.

This is the default if you hold the control key when pressing the middle button ...you may have inadvertently changed the setting in windows or the accellerator options.

I actually had the same issue recently. Try going into your mouse settings through the control panel and experiment with your middle button settings.

Yes, I did this and nothing seemed to work yesterday. But, today when I get in to work and turn on my comp., startup AutoCAD, and lo and behold (BEHOLD, what a word ) I got NORMAL panning. So I guess the number one solution to my particular mouse problem IS:<drumroll.wav>

REBOOT  :ugly:
