Sheet Set Manager - Sheet Count Total
« on: August 24, 2005, 11:29:51 AM »
Has any found a way to have a running sheet count total as a field through the Sheet Set Manager. Our Title Blocks has this:

(example "Sheet 4 of 27) where:

"4" is a Field with Sheet Number from the Sheet Set, however "27" is manually entered through Sheet Set Custom Field. We would like a Field that does an updated count as we add/remove sheets. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Dan

I haven't found a way to do this yet and don't see any options that would allow it.......but to edit this number fast on all the titleblocks you could use Global attribute edit (assuming its an attribute) or find an replace, or xreference your titleblock so you only have to change it once.

Sorry it's not the answer you're looking for but it's all I got. :)

What about using a formula of some kind?

Create a custom field for "Sheet of" & place this field in your sheet set template dwg. Add that custom field to your sheet set & it's now an option that you can manually change one time once you determine how many sheets you have & it'll update on all sheets in your sheet set. It's not automated but it gives you the option to edit this attribute globally one time.

Thanks for the feedback. bman, your idea is very similar to the work around we are currently using, not too bad to use just always looking for "better" ways.

Thanks again,
