Xref reloads in 2006
« on: August 12, 2005, 11:44:19 AM »
Anybody open a 2006 file and immediately get a changed xref notification?

Is there any way to set A2K6 to automatically load all Xrefs when you open a dwg?  It seems silly to me to have to reload xrefs after you just opened a dwg.

It already does.. all that window is is a notification that the xref changed from the last time the drawing was opened.  Kind of a heads up.

Yeah, I'm guessing that Autodesk wouldn't call it a bug but it basically is.  It seems to happen if an xref is modified after the drawing you open was saved.  It loaded the xref correctly though so you can just ignore it.

Just installed 2k6 yesterday!! woohoo

ok on topic

Unless there are multiple people on the project who dont communicate.

You could be working on the sheets and some "designer" jumps on and decides he can just modify the xref to make changes he "feels" should be in there.

How would you know he made those changes if he didnt tell you.

Or if you're the only one running a project.
If ACAD tells me that an xref was modified on one of my jobs and I didnt do it, there will be hell to pay.

It would be awesome if autocad threw in a window or highlighted the revised areas. That may be asking a bit much tho.
