If I have a layer in a drawing is there anyway I can lock the layer and keep others from unlocking the same layer?

The only way I know of to do this is with privelges within Autodesk Map.

If you have Autodesk Map, you can log in as "SUPERUSER" and assign individual users permission to work with and save only selected layer groups within a single drawing.  This allows an entire team to work on a single drawing file at the same time and permits the "superuser" to deny access to any given element.

I'd think you could set up something that looked at the username (loginname) on the computer and if it didn't match your name it would ^REACT^ by relocking that layer. Probably better to do this in vba.

Ok...I do not anything about reactors and I am not familiar with Autodesk Map. I looked at the help file and all it gave me information on was Qselect.......in the dark hear...anyone have a flashlight.....thanks
