Lines with different linestyles merging.
« on: July 21, 2021, 08:03:40 AM »
Hi there guys!

I'm having a little problem with cad with line styles. I have 2 lines partially colinear, both of them are having different dashed styles. (photo1)
They're looking like solid lines on a plot to pdf when they are on each other, although they are 2 different dashed lines.
Is there a way to plot (or even display) one of them while they are colinear?

Change color of some of those and then do DRAWORDER or CDORDER command to make some look over others...

The problem with your solution is that these layers must be with this specific color because those lines are the boundaries of the land plot, and in my country, the color of those lines is determined by the government. If I change color, the map won't be in accordance with official guidelines.

You may find "hideobjects" Command may help for the plot.
(Use unisolateobjects to bring them back to view)

Hide object would hide all lines from layer, it would work if were colinear all the time, but they are not. Hiding objects "by hand" where there are thousands of situations doesn't make me happy.

If it's government dictated I guess I have to ask how others are handling it? Perhaps we can come up with an answer for you that way.
Would something as simple as overkill work for you?

They use Microstation by Bentley, but i don't like it, Cad is more intuitive and customizable. Overkill is nice, but it deletes lines by random. Sometimes it leaves the front one, sometimes the background one. Is there any way to control it?
