Converting 3DSOLIDs to Meshes
« on: June 22, 2021, 10:03:04 AM »
Morning,

Have they (or anyone ) come up with a decent Solid2Mesh convertor yet ?
Almost every search reverses the keywords to Mesh to Solid

Maybe newer releases have better editing tools

TIA  -David

Please you upload, the sample.dwg; for more-compatibility you must save
as old-version(e.g autocad 2017) , before you upload it here.

There are no 3D solids in the file. But there are regions, which can be produced by exploding 3D solids.

To convert 3D solids you can try the SaveAsR12 command. This will produce PolyFace Meshes from 3D solids and Regions. At least in BricsCAD V18.

Thanks.  The R12 route creates a wire frame skeleton ( this has been the standard as far back as I remember ) 2004   only  allows DXFOUT option for R12 format.

Maybe I can do a R15 (2000) saveas.

Thanks  Again  -David
