Microstation Workspace and Worksets

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience working with CDOT Microstation Workspaces.  We have downloaded the zip file and it comes with 2 files to copy into the Microstation system folder.  But, that requires the help of IT.  We want to be able to do it without using IT.  I have only worked with Microstation for roughly 2 years and have no idea what I am doing when it comes to Workspaces and Worksets.  I have looked up videos and articles about it but, they all start from scratch.  I haven't found anything about modifying existing cfg files.  Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
