hmm, if you can't beat 'em... :)

On IFC:
On the face of it IFC looks like a good thing, in reality it's fundamentally broken.

Having to create 'mapping' files so your app knows what the other app means just to draw the entity is FUBAR, you should be able to store the geometry of an entity without knowing what its name/section/designation is, that's just meta data. At the very least you should be able to import it and draw/model it.

The size of the IFC Schema is all but unmanageable for developers to keep up with, by moving to 'geometry first' you could whittle the schema down to a fraction of what it is now, there are only so many geometry types to store, all other data is just that, data.

Hey Mick. Thanks for posting. Not ignoring you, just cray cray busy. Fortunate to be working but 40 hours in 3 days is taking a toll on this old fella. :uglystupid2:
