Creating alignment and corridors from survey

Conrad:
Hello all,
What is the best way to create alignments and corridors from a survey dwg?  The file has everything in it trees, utilities, roads, etc.. I am use to creating surfaces from a top then incorporating everything else in.  Its been about a year since I worked with civil and this has thrown me for a loop.
