Project REGION on curved SURFACE...
« on: November 20, 2018, 07:19:51 AM »
Hi there...
I have a little difficult task... I want to project REGION on SURFACE or 3DSOLID that may or may not be curved... Projected REGION should cover curved SURFACE or 3DSOLID and has to lie right on it... New entity should have exactly the same curving parameters of reference entity and should obtain correct entity type depending on projection... Basically it should remain REGION if 3DSOLID is flat on that side, or become SURFACE if it's curved or BODY entity type or something else, but mimic should be perfect or close to that... Projection should be made by vector perpendicular to REGION plane or vector should be exactly normal vector of region entity (for a start - I don't want to complicate task too much)...
All ALISP functions could be used as also all commands preferably based on surface modifications or 3d manipulations... I want also to be compatibile with A2014+newer, but I don't have A2019, so please skip this task if you can't do it without 2019 release...

All suggestions and replies are very welcome...

Also, if REGION (red) is partially passing with projection through reference 3DSOLID (white sphere), I want that projection is made only on front side of curving 3DSOLID - SURFACE... Back projection is not necessity and if must then there should be 2 projections - front surface and back surface - BODY... See attachment...
