Single Click or Window Trim
« on: April 19, 2018, 06:23:58 AM »
I had the good fortune to see somebody using some bespoke software last week and one of the commands that I saw looked really useful to my workflow.

It is similar to Trim but instead of selecting an entity to trim to or selecting all, you only needed to select the entity or entities and they would trim back to the first intersecting entity.

I know that pressing enter twice after invoking Trim does a similar thing, but this is only useful if you have EDGEMODE turned off. I use EDGEMODE turned on all the time so get spurious results.

I have had a good look round the forums and lisp sites and can't find anything like this, I have found routines that Break to intersections but not Trim.

Has anybody come across anything like it?

Presumably if you picked for example a vertical line between two horizontal lines it would need to trim to both horizontal intersections as it wouldn't know which one was the intended intersection it was supposed to trim to. This wouldn't a problem.

I'm using Bricscad V17

Any help as usual would be much appreciated.

Hi CAB, thanks for the reply and the suggestions.

What I am looking for is exactly the same as your BreakSelected routine (the 3rd button down on your dialog box), except instead of offering a gap and just breaking the entity I want to trim/delete it.

Hopefully that makes it clearer.

Many Thanks.
