Topic: Stipple, or gradient hatch patterns

Greetings all.  Infrequent old-timer here who's back in the world of CAD.

I know that AutoCAD will allow for gradient fills, but what about gradient hatch patterns?

For example, a stippled pattern, or something similar to AR-SAND that fades from a higher dot density at one end of the pattern boundary and fades to a lighter one as it goes along?

Is this now possible at all?

May I ask why? dot-based hatch patterns slow down the program among other problems?

Architect is requesting a stippled pattern for a terrace covered in 24x24 pedestal pavers.

Basically created a 24x24 square, offset a series of concentric rectangles, and used the sand pattern at increasing scaled as it went in to approximate it.

Then arrayed that to the same extents as the 24x24 grid pattern.
