Tag secondary connector
« on: January 23, 2018, 05:17:58 AM »
Does anyone know how to tag a secondary data connector?
I have a dual data outlet, I assign both individual circuit refs but Revit will only ever tag the primary connection, I can tag the secondary connection if I use wires, but the wire home run length is massive, and I need to manually adjust, it would be better if I could just tag both circuits.

Any ideas?

From here:

Its a problem, Autodesk is aware of the need....yet they quibbling over how users should ask for the solution. (?)

I wouldn't mind having the wires on the sheet and tagging those, but for the love of me, I can't find a way to set the home run length, so typically it stretches over the entire sheet, I'd like to restrict it to say 5mm, then I can easily tag it, but the whole place wire, adjust wire, tag wire each and every time gets a bit annoying very quickly.

Right now we are using a shared parameter, adding the panel name and circuit number, then using a carriage return, then adding the panel name and second circuit number, not the best solution, but quicker than adding and adjusting wires for the 500 odd data circuits I have

I saw somewhere that if you delete the default home run, and then start the wire option at your fixture you can make that home run any length you want.

Haven't tried it cant say for sure.

delete the home run family? or create a home run, delete it and make another?
