Shocking hatch performance, how do you fix it?
« on: March 07, 2016, 10:20:35 PM »
Not sure if this is the right place but here goes anyway.. well, I've written some hatching lisps and they work fine with the exception of when i make a hatch the subject of a selection in the GUI. basically any time a hatch is selected or deselected the GUI freezes for 1-3 seconds, regardless of any GUI settings like clean screen, ribbon, properties etc.

What the hell is going on, and is there some setting or way to fix this? At first it wasn't so bad, but now I feel like it's getting worse (although that could just be my frustration growing! :evillaugh:)

To reproduce the problem just select any hatch in any drawing - instant lag. I'm using "M.107.0.0 AutoCAD 2016 SP1" if that helps at all.

Anyone have any clues about this?

Have you tried disabling the contextual ribbon tab for a hatch?

Removing this part in the ribbon helped for us. We suffer some kind of latency issues i was told..
Design is something you should do with both hands. My 2d hand , my 3d hand ..

Presuming you have taken all the steps you think are necessary, you might also use Process Monitor to watch file/registry activity at the moment you select or deselect a hatch.
I've seen AutoCAD do some strange things at times.
