While try to open a file AutoCAD stuck and not accept any command even save.

Have noticed newer version will get stuck, error out, etc.. more often due to xrefs without any notification.

The 2 things I have done

1. Open default drawing and LOGFILEON and/or might need to set LOGFILEMODE = 1 then open the drawing and look at log file to see where it got stuck.

2. Try to recovering or open and repair the xrefs used in the drawing.

One thing I have learnt ( the hard way) over the years ( applies to any application with volatile data).

Save often ... Particularly before doing something the has ANY chance of freezing the Application

Yes that what I did
I found LOG file with file name, and copied all contains.
