Export XClip'd Area Only
« on: December 03, 2015, 10:04:44 AM »
Just curious if anyone has an idea how to export a xclip'd block that also has civil3d data out to its own drawing? I have a huge site that has several blocks that make up the whole drawing. I only want to export a portion. Any ideas?

IF only MAP would read the Civil objects one could do a query and get ONLY the data inside a defined polygon area....

what are the civil objects?

you might try chopping the surface up and creating DREFS(data shortcuts) for each area

or a combination of Show/Hide boundaries.

similar for pipe networks...

Or use the SHEET tools to chop it up into 'sheets' they need not be acutal sheets, they cold just be your work areas....

Just tossing somethings out there

Now we are talking. I had to find a routine that would delete objects outside a polyline with the EXTRIM command. Took sometime but it worked. I do like the MAP idea. Sounds easier and a lot less hasel.
