« on: September 29, 2015, 03:31:28 AM »
Hi,

I would like to know if versions of AutoCAD like 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 supports plugins and ribbons.

Thanks

Hi,

If you mean plugins for Autodesk App Store using the Autoloader (bundle) mechanism, the reply is no, this feature came with AutoCAD 2012.

For prior versions, you need to build your own installer (possibly using VS 2010 or Visual Studio Installer Projects extension for VS 2013), but it won't be accepted on the Autodesk Apps Store..

But is it possible to create plugins with ribbons in prior versions?

2008 had the Toolbox (can't remember the proper name right now); the first Ribbon proper was in 2009.  There was a kerfluffle as some had invested in setting up the former which was discarded without any means of migrating.

try {GreatPower;}
   catch (notResponsible)
      {NextTime(PlanAhead);}
   finally
      {MasterBasics;}

To boot - The 2009 Ribbon was not able to be customized until SP2 or SP3. :x
