Identification of object enablers
« on: September 17, 2015, 12:14:44 PM »
I have a survey that was attached to my CAD file, but on the client end they only see thousands of little red rectangles.

Is there any way to identify what object enabler I am using to display the survey data?

I do not install these so I don't know. Our IT department is sketchy at best when asking about AutoCAD issues.

The enablers are based on the programs that create the stuff that needs enabling, i.e. if you are using Civil3D, they need the Civil3D enabler. Simple.

That's part of the problem. I didn't create this, and it was made back in 2012.  A year before I was employed here.

If I were on the receiving end, I would not have a problem doing some best guesses and possibly resorting to getting all of them.

what version are you CURRENTLY opening the file in?

Get the OE for THAT version.

Check the command line when first opening the drawing (close AutoCAD first, then open the drawing).  It should indicate whatever OEs are being loaded.
If you are going to fly by the seat of your pants, expect friction burns.

try {GreatPower;}
   catch (notResponsible)
      {NextTime(PlanAhead);}
   finally
      {MasterBasics;}
