Drawing polylines from Block insertion point
« on: August 10, 2015, 10:03:00 PM »
Hi all!
I need a lisp that will draw polylines from block insertion point to a polyline. The attachment will be helpful to understand the query. Thanks in advance.

Please take this the way it is intended.

I just set my Osnaps to Center , Insert and Perp.

It took less than 10 seconds to repeat your lines.

Why particularly do you "need" a program to do this ??

I'll make a deal with you:
If you can write the algorithm to satisfy automating the process to meet ALL conditions that you may need to meet I will write the code as a community exercise  ( or we could turn it into a *Challenge* ... but you must supply the exact specifications.

I have to do it for more than 200 blocks. So its take time. Please find the attached file. I have a lisp to automatically place the text between two blocks provided the connecting lines are two segments. Thanks in advance.

It looks to me that there are only about a dozen unique length lines on that floor.
Personally I'd draw and annotate one of each type and employ copy/paste.
Pretty basic I'd have thought.
I still don't see how you expect to save time/money by semi-automating the process.
If fact I can't see any chance of a return on investment for anything other than basic 'dumb' drawing tools.

Must be a lot of women on that floor ... 18 restroom cubicles designed ...

//------------------------

From a detailing point of view, I'm surprised that each unique pipe diameter isn't on it's own layer ...
would make a material take-off easier ... may even be helpful for designing the system.

1+
Since there are 3 most typical pipe runs you could create a block for those.
