build a custom drawing search engine
« on: July 20, 2015, 07:23:21 AM »
Hi
We spent hours locating drawing we need to reuse. I were thinking to set tags or keyword attached to the drawing the first time we create it, and then use a search mechanism to search for drawings by their tags.

The first attempt was windows 7 search,
I wrote  details in the tab :  A >  Drawing  Properties >Summery

Those details cannot be seemed in the Win 7 explorer. Where I can see them?
Second attempt  is by using design center:

1.   Opening a drawing
2.   Accessing Drawings Utilities > Custom

Tag - value
Scale – 1:20
Steel-T
Save them with the drawing.

Open design center , load the search utility , search for the costume tags that I initiate:
Scale – 1:20
Steel-T

The above yell no results
What im doing wrong?

Thanks
Shay

And there is a Content Explorer available in AutoCAD as well.

The conclusion is justified that the initialization of the development of critical subsystem optimizes the probability of success to the development of the technical behavior over a given period.

WOW

That search function (doesn't function) in Design Center is like TOTAL crap!

How awesome.....if one tries to use it for what it theoretically is supposed to do, it's pretty much useless.
