View AeccDbPoint and topo in AutoCAD
« on: March 19, 2015, 02:45:24 PM »
Hi, is there some sort of plugin to view Aec objects in the vanilla version of AutoCAD? I have a surveyor's drawing that was made with Land Development but my company doesn't have C3D or MAP3D. Perhaps a conversion program or a Plugin someone can reccomend.

as you are saying this is a LAND DESKTOP file I dont think you will find the correct object enabler any longer.

Please specify, is the source from LANDDESKTOP or CIVIL 3D?

If from C3D, someone may need to convert that file to Autocad for you to see those points...

Maybe you can find/get what you need here:

I don't know if anyone can download (I didn't try) or you need to sign up.
The other option is to get everyone to upgrade.

Call the surveyor and ask for another file with something you can read!

Another option might be Carlson Software,  IIRC they can read LDT data directly.

After all, if the OP does not have civil design software, the COGO points are not going to be of much use - other than possibly as Node Osnaps

Actually it may not solve those problems...

As MAP  -  CAN NOT  read any data created from Civil 3D other than DUMB autocad lines, arcs, and texts

Perhaps explain what problems you think Map will resolve and I'll tell you if you are right. (or the sales person has smoked and mirrored you)
