Best guess is that the Captain would be in charge at the project level and the Manager is in charge at the department level above the Captain.

One orders the ice cream.  One serves it.

Sorry, best I can do without any context.   :gum:
If you are going to fly by the seat of your pants, expect friction burns.

try {GreatPower;}
   catch (notResponsible)
      {NextTime(PlanAhead);}
   finally
      {MasterBasics;}

Ah. The labeling game. I work in the mechanical field but the drawings closest label is fabrication drawings. So I defined my own terms:

Drafter: Follows instructions, can accurately input information given to them.

Designer: Can create systems. Similar to an engineer but without a license...mostly for seasoned veterans with on the job training and experience.

Drafter Designer: The above together.

CAD Manager: Undefined but I am headed toward the idea that they can do all of the above but mostly manage systems (computer-ish) and people who actually do the above.

I haven't heard the word Captain used in this field but in fast food it would be someone who can run everything, including crew-mambers, but is not management in any form. It's generic for "you help but don't get paid for it" in my experience. It does tend to insinuate you are the next in line for lower management.

I modified it to my field by pre-cursing it with "Mechanical", i.e. "Mechanical Drafter" I am learning the design aspects.
