Just a guess but are you using a widescreen monitor & he's not? The thumbnail preview seems to take on whatever shape your AutoCAD window is.

Aha! He has the same monitor as I do but at least I can "create" a similar looking thumbnail now so thank you for that!

We both zoom to extents before every save. Maybe it's a zoom or a drawing limits setting?

I still haven't figured this out. My co-worker insists it's a setting I toggled somewhere and wants my "small" drawings to look like his "big" drawings. Any suggestions or ideas are welcome.  :|

Maybe it's a Windows thing, the same happens here sometimes. Below an example, all icons are exactly the same size.
