« on: January 06, 2015, 12:42:35 PM »
Hi guys.

I'm trying to use a xref line to put a especif block each 15 meters.
But couldn't use measure command.

Guys, How can I do that?

why can you NOT use measure or divide command?

In the past we had the command NCOPY to bring the line in the current drawing. Don't know if that still works. Else you need to redraw that line or place the blocks in the Xref file.

I can't use any of these command for xref.
Code: [Select]
Cannot measure that object.*Invalid*

I had to paste the line from the current drawing.
It worked!

NO....

And not IF you use them as they are intended to be used.....as background information NOT as drawing objects.

Yes, NCOPY still exists (2014) and there are lisps (OFFSET-ALL.LSP  OFFSET ALL  (c) 2003 Qingmo Zhu) out there to offset xref objects. I use both frequently.
After getting object native to drawing, then you can measure, divide, etc. as any native object.

YES, only it really defeats the 'true' purpose of XREF information.

But when you need the exact geometry native to drawing at some specified distance away from the xreffed object, but not actually in the xref, this is a big timesaver.
