Scaling by reference in separate directions.

Hi Everyone!

I have to scale by reference but in two separate direction.  So first only scale the Y then scale the X.  Please tell me their is a way to do this!

first I must ask WHY?  in a Civil drawing you would be doing this

Then, suggest
first figure out what those separate scale factors are...

then insert the data as a block and apply non-uniform scale *note this may or may not result in usable information
as the block may not explode

SCALE reference in one direction then note (Copy) the scale factor of the block in that direction.
The SCALE reference in the other direction. 
Select the block and in the properties window paste the value of the previous scale in the appropriate box.

Why would you want to explode a block if you went to all the trouble of making it a block to start with??
If it is a block, copy it to another location return scales to uniformity and REFEDIT that instance.  Once complete delete the copy and the non-uniformly scaled block will be up to date.

user never said the item(s) were in a block....given that it is a CIVIL drawing user may want and or need to work with these components as entities not as a block AFTER the non-uniform scale operation succeeds

you are correct, I was reading the scale as in scale a block, my apologies.

Thanks I figured it out!  I had to xref in an old .pdf and it was so wacky that the x scale and y scale were different.

It might have been easier to convert to image and use Rubber Sheeting to adjust to fit actual coordinates.
