PacMan And Planet Zog - Final upgrade/posting
« on: September 30, 2014, 06:37:00 AM »
Hi guys,

This is the final posting/upgrade for the PacMan game (lisp dated 27.09.2014 - Final). Been writing the same game for too long, want to try another game now.
Am thinking of a simple easy to write game and also try out irneb suggestion using a new approach of regulating the game speed.

This final posting consisits of 100 game levels, 13 backgrounds all with lighting effect and more options for the StartUp menu.

Watch the video here at Youtube:

What versions of AutoCAD will this work on?  Didn't have an old enough version to run your original.

+1 , if only support cad2002 ,It doesn't make any sense to update more .

Zip file is so big (186.74MB) , why we need use cad to play this game ?  I download a EXE file ,Perhaps only a few megabytes !

I believe it is about someone showing his (or hers) capability and skills in programming an AutoCAD enviroment.
It is not about why you need to do this or that. You do not need tdo anyting. I'd suggest you'd just play the exe variant.
By the way,the last time I worried about how big a file was, was when I as burning movies on DVDs

I don't think it is fair to hotlink this size file to theSwamp and expect Mark to pay for the download bandwidth.

20 downloads of a 1Mb file is like a tadpole in the Everglades.

I saw this and made an assumption

emk2012,

It isn't about the game. Its the challenge. I always wanted to write a PacMan game since I was in my 30's.
The zipped file size is big ...becos of the image and sound files

bilançikur ,

I would not dare to say I am skillful when I am in TheSwamp.
There are so many good programmers here that I look up to ... like Lee-Mac or CAB and others too.

Ya I know the EXE variant file is small but it only have 1 or 2 levels, it repeats the same levels (layout) but only with different type of fruit.
And the background is the same.

My zip file is big becos it contained the jpeg images for all levels, total are 103 levels (layouts) and there are 13 type of background with
lighting effect, so we do the maths
103x13x (each jpeg file size is about) 125 kb = 167 mb then there are mp3 sound files thats why file size is so big.

And the lisp is 1mb but if to take out comments and the lisp for opening scene and demo I guess it only come to about 500 kb or
maybe less I didn't check it actually.

This late reply is becos I have so much time now (my Pc sent for repairing) that I ran thru' most posting until this one here.
