... as mainstream support for Windows 7 will end in January of 2015.

Uhhhh... what?   :?

interesting.....

note that 'mainstream support' for XP ended in 2009, and we know how that went.

Given that January 2015 is 3-4 months away and nobody running around with their hair on fire (SOP for OS upgrades) that sounded a little suspect.  End of 'extended support' is ~ 2020, which is much more in line.

I upgraded our small office over a weekend, so the hair on fire took place after.  :-D

So, as recapitulation of this thread, there are not many alternatives at the moment. If I will find some time (sometimes ...) I will take a closer look to "Virtual Box", but at the moment I will keep the current state.

Thanks for your postings!
