3d Office Control points problem
« on: July 14, 2014, 08:30:13 AM »
Hi Everyone,

I am having trouble with one last part of 3doffice file. I have imported points and line work and I have created a TIN surface.  I am having trouble with control!  My control points are not even close to my file but I am reading them off a survey.  I know the benchmarks exact location on my drawing however my drawing is in the 5000,5000 range and the survey is in the 4000000, 4000000 range.  What I am asking is if I manually put the control points in 3dOffice where I know they are on the drawing, when I go out and set up my Topcon instrument  over a control point will it orient itself correctly even if the 3dOffice file is somewhere random in 3doffice space ( as long as the control points are at the right elevations and distance relative to the drawing).

A bit hard to understand what I am asking.

Thank you in advance.

Probably NOT

If the coordinates are wrong they are wrong....so if the job is on an assumed grid....5000,5000
then that same point number should be that same reference coordinate value.
