Multiple View Port Plans in one layout help
« on: June 02, 2014, 09:27:46 AM »
I have a question for you guys. I found a drawing that has multiple plans in one layout tab. However when you go to model space... Everything is on and its hard to decipher what layers are on view ports etc.

Does anyone have an idea how to organize a clutter of drawing?

thanks

I usually work through the viewport, make sure it is locked, though. You can also use maximize viewport.

Is there a way to export the current layers state out and restore it in model space or something?

Not that I know of.

Is there a problem with working through the viewport?

If you have different viewports to filter layers, best to work in that viewport.

You can also create layer groups and mass on/off within model space however this can negatively affect the viewports.

from your description the clutter has been organized
into views with various layers froze in those views
as others have noted

Make use of the views by Locking them, and utilizing Maximize viewport command lower right on your screen
a squarish thing with and arrow on it
This lets one work on the entire model 'as if' in model space while maintaining the viewport layer state
Be your Best
