The only thing needed is to load the .arx file.  It does not need to be (and should not be) in the AutoCAD support path.

Hi Guys,
Sorry I overlooked this thread for awhile.
I to put my ARX on the central network server & load it from there.
Owen is good at looking out for the developers that are selling there products & making sure they don't step on each others toes, since he's a developer himself.
But for us guys that are keep our app's inhouse, installing\deploying software to each PC is a bit of a pain.

This is an OLD thread and the load method was refined several years ago.
