Topic: Help! Can't open a drawing - error message...

Many hours of work here...can't open the file!

here's the error message:

INTERNAL ERROR:!U:\global\src\ObjectDbx\DB\IMP\src\dbenti.cpp@1130: eWrongObjectType

I hit OK, then it gives me this:

'The instruction at "0x36023b30" referenced memory at "0x401f6010". The Memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program'

The drawing has an xref which has no problems opening. It has been purged and audited. There is a fair amount of hatching in this drawing. Autosave did not backup the file, nor does a backup copy exist. If anyone has a suggestion, please let me know.

Just for grins, can you insert into a new dwg as a block?

If you do not have access to AutoCAD 2004 or higher, please post the drawing file here, then I or someone else will try the Recover command on the drawing file for you.

...I have tried inserting it into a blank drawing...no luck. I have also tried the Recover command in ACAD 2000...no luck. Mike - can I post the file directly to this board?...it is 1.71M. Thanks for looking into it.

Yes! It opens fine. You guys are swamp gods! Guess I should consider an upgrade soon.

Well I tried opening it normaly,didnt work,tried again while hitting Esc to cancel any running commands,that sometimes works.Then I tried renaming the file and opening it,didnt work,so I tried inserting it as a block,still no help.So I ran the recover command and opened it fixed a number of errors,then I purged it.Nothing that complicated.
